Thought this was appropriate seeing as today is Canadian Thanksgiving:

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thankful Thursday

This week, I’m thankful for:

  • my son and daughter
  • being able to chaperone my daughter’s school trip
  • surviving an evening where we accidentally left my son’s iPad at his IBI therapy. He was pretty upset but we made it through, without meltdowns.
  • reconnecting with a childhood friend and her kids in person
  • winning a weighted-blanket for my son (details to come soon!)
  • my personal Facebook community (thanks for helping me win the weighted blanket!)

Thankful Thursday – 05/10

This week has been a tough week with my son and I being sick but there are still many things to be thankful for:

  • my son and daughter
  • the fun-filled weekend we had with wonderful friends
  • getting together with childhood friends, one of whom I haven’t seen in at least 15 years
  • being part of a moms group
  • my son and I being on the mend with our colds

What are you thankful for?

Thankful Thursday – 04/12

For the last two weeks, I’m thankful for:

  • my son and daughter
  • being able to publicly share our story of how Autism has affected our little family – thank you The Grand 92.9FM!
  • having some great groups of girlfriends
  • my daughter’s school fundraiser went awesome (I was co-chair so I had a higher interest in its success!)
  • the problems with my “sexy minivan” will (hopefully) be finished…for now 🙂
  • my man’s cooking ability…yum!!

What are you thankful for?

Thankful Thursday – 02/09

This week, I’m thankful for:

  • My son and daughter
  • My friend’s little 5 month old will be able to come home from the hospital, and the support they are receiving from all their friends and family
  • The resources available to me to help me through the rough times related to my son’s Autism
  • Having some R&R time this past weekend

Gratitude Project – 11/25

Ironically, today is American Thanksgiving. I hope there are many people realizing how much they have to be thankful for, even if it’s just the small things in life.  Personally, I’m thankful/grateful for the following this past week:

  • My son and daughter
  • My mom
  • My man (and especially his amazing cooking skills!)
  • Receiving the first report from my son’s IBI therapy – it sets the benchmark, and develop goals for the next 6 months
  • Receiving my daughter’s first report card in French Immersion
  • Attending parent-teacher interviews at both of my kids’ schools – my kids are doing great!
  • Being able to volunteer in my daughter’s class
  • My daughter’s creativity in everything she does
  • My sexy mini-van’s tires keeping us safe…phew!
  • An event I attended on Tuesday

What are you thankful for?

Gratitude Project

A couple months ago, I came across Motherhood Looms’  Gratitude Project.  After my marriage ended, I started doing something similar every night (which I call my “Daily Thankfuls”) before going to sleep, to ensure I finish each day on a positive note.  When I first started, I had to say them out loud to be able to focus on what I was saying. Now, I find I can just think my Daily Thankfuls before going to sleep, and it still helps calm my mind.

I thought I would do a Gratitude Project of my own by jumping on board with “Thankful Thursdays”.  Although Motherhood Looms did her Gratitude Project daily for a month, I think I’ll post my Gratitudes on Thursdays, and if there are any additional ones I want to share in between, I’ll post them on my Facebook status (so be sure to “Like” me to read them!).

So, I’m grateful for the following this week:
